Metal and steel plates cut to your size

„Thanks to the clean cuts produced by EHG, we save valuable time in post-processing. Our parts are ready to use straight away.“
Sawn plates vs flame cutting

Sawn steel plates

 Standard flame cutting

No heat-affected zone:

The material structure remains fully intact.

Heat-affected zone (HAZ):

High heat input changes the material structure.

No edge hardening:

The cutting edges remain workable and can be processed immediately.

Hard edges:

The edges harden and often require annealing.

Reduced tooling costs:

No hard edges so your tools are protected.

Increased tool wear:

Hard edges lead to increased wear.

No post-processing:

The material does not need to be re-milled.

Post-processing required:

The HAZ often requires milling, which costs time and money.

Maximum precision:

Tight tolerances of up to +/- 0.1 mm are possible.

Higher tolerances:

The precision is significantly lower.

Immediate time and cost savings:

Entire work steps are eliminated.

Additional processing costs:

Multiple downstream work steps are required.

FAQs: Frequently asked questions
What steel grades are available for plate cutting?

We offer a wide range of grades, including S355J2+N, C45+N, 16MnCr5+N as well as various tool steels and quench and tempered steels. Enquire about your material of choice.

What are the maximum cutting dimensions?

We cut sheets up to 7000 x 2050 mm and blocks up to 4000 x 1000 mm. The maximum material thickness is 600 mm.

How accurate are EHG's sawing tolerances?

Our standard sawing tolerance is -0/+3 mm. For particularly demanding applications, we can provide tolerances of up to -0/+0.30 mm or +/- 0.1 mm on request.

Is additional processing required after cutting?

No. Our parts do not have hard edges and do not require any additional annealing. On request, we can deburr cut edges to ensure they're ready for further processing straight away.

Does EHG also offer drilling or other forms of processing?

Yes. In addition to cutting, our service also includes drilling, chamfering, milling and various heat treatments to provide you with ready-to-install parts.
