New warehouse and office building in Aichach
The EHG Group is expanding in Bavaria. Specifically, the existing location in Odelzhausen is being relocated to Aichach, some 20 kilometres away. A new building is being constructed there to expand capacities for the storage of steel and metal and to increase the possibilities in terms of processing. "In addition, we are creating more transhipment possibilities for deliveries from the EHG headquarters in Dornbirn (Austria) to our region. This will enable us to supply our customers in southern Germany even better and faster," emphasises Gerhard Schug, Managing Director of EHG Stahl.Metall Odelzhausen.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new location took place on 13 July 2023. On the 13,000 square metre site, EHG is building a warehouse with 7,381 square metres and an office building with around 1,300 square metres of floor space. Around 35 people will be employed in Aichach. Completion is planned for the end of 2024. "With the new location, we are ideally equipped for our future growth in our region," says Martin Krug, Managing Director of EHG Stahl.Metall Odelzhausen.
Sustainable energy concept
The issue of sustainability plays a major role in the construction of the new site. For example, the hall roof will be equipped with a large photovoltaic system, which will generate a large part of the electricity required during normal operation. In addition, the warehouse and the office building will be air-conditioned via air heat pumps and underfloor heating.

This is how the new EHG building in Aichen will look after completion at the end of 2024.
